The Return

Rag and Bone Sweater

It's been a long time.  I've missed the site, I've missed blogging.  Awhile ago, I was having a lot of technical trouble with my site, but it came at great time.  What I wanted to be present in Emily Lane Style was changing and it seemed like the perfect time to revamp.  While these things have all taken longer than I was expecting and I never wanted to be away from the blog for this long, it has given me time to think about what I want the site to be.  What changes I want to make and what should stay the same.  When I started Emily Lane Style I wasn't sure where it would go or even where I would want it to go.  Now I feel ready to start again fresh.  I'm incredibly happy to announce now that the new site will up and running in couple weeks and can't wait to share it all with you!
(Above is a little sneak peak of whats to come.)

Huntington

Topshop Jumpsuit / Club Monaco Blazer / RACHEL Rachel Roy Shoes
Visiting the Huntington Library and Botanical Gardens was one of the highlights of my recent trip to LA.  I could have spent all day there.  Each garden was a complete experience and amazing in its own way.  As I was about to go through the Japanese garden for a second time it began to rain and was forced to leave.  I wore my favorite Topshop jumpsuit which may just be the most comfortable thing I own.  It's amazing.  I pack it for almost every trip for that reason.  Also, it doesn't wrinkle.  Incredible piece.

Geo Sands

Michael Michael Kors Dress / Report Sandals / H&M Clutch
I still remember the day this dress caught eye in the store.  I immediately knew I was leaving with it.  I love the 70s vibe and the colors are amazing.  It was perfect for a warm, but windy day at the beach and farmers market.  Long sleeved dresses get me almost every time.

LA Sky

Made for Macy's Sweater / Astr Skirt / T by Alexander Wang Shirt / H&M Bag / Zara Shoes
After an entire year I'm finally back in LA.  I couldn't be happier.  After going for the first time last year was completely in love with the laid back city.  I'm already trying to plan when I can come back.
I'm just as psyched about these Zara boots I just got.  I feel like I've been waiting years for the perfect black ankle books and finally found them.  I've been wearing this pair with everything since I got them.  I love the ankle strap and cut out and the chunky heel.  It gives the shoe weight without being bulky.  I could talk about these boots all day.  Wearing these boots around LA is my dream day.

Captiva

Zara Dress / Target Earrings
This Zara dress is one of my favorite purchases of the year.  I love how romantic it is.  It's also really easy and actually quite different than anything I own.  I got it right before it got cold, so I've worn it mostly layered under huge long sweaters.  It was nice to just throw it on without any hassle.  Like about half of my other Zara purchases I bought it out of necessity.  While walking around in New York it started raining and the clothes I was wearing were way too wet so I decided I'd just pick something new up.  Same story goes for some of my favorite loafers I got after my shoes were completely soaked though when puddles were unavoidable.  In any situation like this my first thought is to run to Zara.  I'm always afraid I'll hate the purchases later and that I was just convinced I loved them because I also needed them, but the opposite always tends to happen.  Maybe it's because I feel indebted to them because they save me from being cold and wet.  Or Zara just rules and I can always find something there I love, I just need a good excuse to spend money.

Tropica

Nanette Lepore Swim Suit
Sanibel Island is one of my favorite places.  I have so many good memories there.  It is so quaint and relaxing without the crazy beach atmosphere so many places tend to have.  Bonus that it was actually hot out when I was there last.  Gave me a chance to sport my new bathing suit.  I always come back to one pieces.  I love the look of them.

Caves and Coves

Target Dress / Zara Shoes / Gap Sunglasses
My final pics from the Valley of Fire a few weeks ago.  This made for one of the best spontaneous drives.  I can't wait until its actually warm at home and I don't have to keep escaping for good weather.  Currently it's snowing again . . .

Warby :) Parker

Warby Parker Sunglasses / T by Alexander Wang Top / Joe Fresh Pants / Adrianna Papell Shoes
With spring around the corner I can't keep wearing the same old winter clothes, even though they are probably still much more appropriate.  I'm looking for hints of warm weather clothes wherever I can which means a barely cropped crop top, open toe mules, and some and new shades.  I was excited to try out some of Warby Parker's new spring line and this emerald green pair stood out to me right away.  Aside from from that fact that Warby Parker has tons of cool options and a great price point I really love their Buy a Pair, Give a Pair initiative that donates one pair of glasses for every pair purchased.  I love a great pair of sunnies and I love that supporting my shopping habit can also help a person in need.

Vision Quest

Target Top / Leith Crop / Prabal Gurung Skirt / Zara Shoes / Gap Sunglasses
Here's some pics going back to the Valley of Fire!  One of the most incredible places I've been!  My favorite vacations are usually spent exploring out in nature.  I love exploring cities and trying everything they have to offer, but there is something so much more exciting and relaxing about just roaming through natural wonders.  I felt like I could spend endless days seeing everything the valley had to offer and napping in the coves and caves along the way!

For Target

Peter Pilotto for Target Top / Club Monaco Skirt / H&M Clutch / Prabal Gurung for Target Shoes
This outfit is a clear example of my love for Target collaborations.  I didn't even realize it until I went to post this outfit that I had two separate collections in this outfit.  These shoes have become such a staple in my wardrobe I completely forget they are from a Target collaboration.  This crop top was the one piece I got from the Peter Pilotto collection and I have a feeling it is going to become another favorite in my wardrobe.  I love how bold and graphic it is while still feeling minimal.
